Cluster Connections… where people meet peopleHere is a new program that’s sure to involve everyone and help us to grow closer together as a Chapel family. “Cluster Connectors” are people who agree to hold a minimum of three house parties over the next year. One in the Summer (May – Aug), another in the Fall (Sep – Dec) and one in the Winter (Jan – Apr). That’s it! You register giving the Office your name, telephone and address. Then when you are ready to hold a house party you let us know the location, date and the time of the event. Let us know about 3 weeks in advance if you can. Give us some idea as to the number of people you can host (suggestion 12-15 is a good size) Next you give us an idea of some things that people can bring to make the party more enjoyable such as: desserts, drinks, snacks things like that so you don’t have to do all the work. We will advertise your event and invite people who would like to come to sign up and let you know what they might bring. With about one week to go you will get your list of people who have signed up from the Chapel and its up to you to invite some others from the neighbourhood, or from the Chapel directory, or maybe you get the list of wedding couples, or families who have had children Baptised – and try to round out the numbers. We will support you with a team of helpers from the Chapel who will assist you with the work and also show up with information about what’s happening at St. George's. In addition, members of our Chaplain Team will be there to socialize and become more familiar with the Chapel family and others in the local community. That’s the real purpose for Cluster Connections … where people meet people. Also if you live in an apartment or would like to host an event somewhere else, the Chapel is available, or you might meet for bowling somewhere, or plan something in a park – it really doesn’t matter. You will be helping us to grow and learn more about each other. So please sign up today. |
