Windows healing and helping
through loss - Two Day Workshop
27/28 March
Beginning with
6:30pm Pot Luck
A
video-based two day workshop created by Mary Joe Hannaford and Michael Popkin
(creator of the children’s program Free the Horses)
Beginning in the evening on Friday with a POT LUCK supper at 6:30pm
and closing at 9:00pm; then beginning again on Saturday morning at
9:00am and concluding at noon. We will cover a number of topics dealing
with coping skills and working with various losses that we commonly face. The
program looks first of all at the loss of an important item and the consequences
and feelings that result. Using these same feelings and emotions we begin to see
patterns developing as we move forward with an increasing awareness of handling
significant challenges and losses including death.
This workshop is open to everyone, not just those who are currently dealing
with grief and bereavement. It is a preparation for dealing with the sadness and
emotional traumas that we all face from time to time.
One of the ways we help ourselves is by helping others. In order to do that
we must come to terms with our own emotions, thoughts, and feelings surrounding
loss. Only then can we begin to identify with the hurts and pains of others and
walk with them in their time of deep sorrow and greatest need.
Windows is a program that will benefit teenagers as well as adults who are
finding it difficult in coping with the stress of losing a close friend either
through postings and having to move, as well as death. It will assist you in
recognizing the presence of Christ as the one who heals us all from the "inside
out" as we learn to come to terms with our own mortality, our own feelings
surrounding loss and the abundant resources that we have within our spiritual
life. As we learn to recognize how to make better choices and accept our loss we
move forward to receiving the grace and love that God has in store for us all.
You will not want to miss this incredible day of healing and spiritual growth.
